1 dead, 1 seriously injured after overnight crash in west Charlotte

One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a crash in West Charlotte overnight Thursday.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers said it happened on Donald Ross Road between Wilkinson and West Boulevard around 1:30 a.m.

Nearly an hour later, our Channel 9 photographer on the scene could still see police blocking the road.

We asked CMPD what caused the crash and if anyone will face charges.
