Record numbers of young people apply to participate in the plenary sessions of Congress

The Council of Europe Congress of Local and Regional Authorities has enjoyed a great response to its call for applications from young people from all the organisation’s member states to participate in its 2025. youth delegate program.

By the December 31 deadline, 445 applications were received from 45 member states, marking a new record for the level of interest in the program, which is part of Congress’ “Rejuvenating Policy” initiative. The Congress will invite one young person, aged between 18 and 30, from each of the 46 member states of the Council of Europe to actively participate as a youth delegate in its plenary sessions in March and October 2025, and also to develop their own basic projects at home.
