East Longmeadow Boys Hockey wins the second consecutive victory against Ludlow

West Springfield – On Tuesday night, the East LongMeadow male hockey team faced Ludlow’s number 5 on a cold night inside Olympia’s ice rink in West Springfield.

The exhibition product for the available crowd was a fun and exciting game. East Longmeadow was victorious with a 4-1 victory, moving up to 7-6-1, while Ludlow fell to 5-6-4 in the season.

“Ludlow is so well trained,” said East Longmeadow coach Dan Reid. “(They are) an excellent team in general with a lot of speed in advance and good defenders. We only wanted to come here and give an effort of 110 percent, and that is what we did tonight. “

East Longmeadow took control of the game from the beginning, receiving some shots on the door and controlling the album. With the East Longmeadow students section, encouraging their noisy and proud team from the beginning, the Spartans quickly capitalized.

With just over seven minutes, the Junior of East Longmeadow, Cody Shaw, obtained some separation for a getaway, sailing the disc directly to the upper right of the network. The crowd exploded when East Longmeadow went up to the board first and never looked back.

“Great job,” Reid said. “Keller Reid’s great pass to prepare it, and Shaw buried the album, which was huge for the team to work.”

While no more goals were scored in the first period of play, Ludlow began to recover, obtaining some more shots on the door and winning a positive impulse for the lions. East Longmeadow goalkeeper Owen Reid, Dan’s nephew, did an excellent work on the network.

Together with the defenders who did a good job by breaking the possible shots in the goal and limiting the general attack, Ludlow could not find the network outside the Son Kefalas Solitary goal in the second period, which makes it 2-1 into That moment.

“(Owen) has played the last games, he has really been in his game,” Reid said. “Really happy for him and very happy for our team because he is beginning to boost our team to good victories. (The defense) obtained a ton of speed there with at least four or five types. I thought our defense played (with) a great gap control and really controlled the tempo. “

Brayden Erickson also quickly scored an album inside the goal in the second period with the remaining 12:57 at the Keller Reid assistance to give the Spartans a 2-0 advantage. After Kefalas’s goal, East Longmeadow responded again at the end of the second period of Kevin Baker’s goal.

Ludlow continued to press East Longmeadow for the game and could not find an answer against the closing defense of the Spartans and the goal. Going to a quick intermediate at the end of the period, the East Longmeadow section was as noisy as ever, encouraging its fans and the successful game on the ice.

When leaving the intermediate, Ludlow continued with the same offensive attack and generated a good appearance. Although Ludlow also remained firm in the goal in the most part, the lack of objectives was quickly beginning to achieve them.

Once the Spartans scored a last minute goal from Rustic Jack to extend the cushion to 4-1, the crowd knew that the game was over. As the clock dropped to zero, East Longmeadow received a satisfactory victory.

While there was much good to remove, Reid still believes there is room to improve.

“We definitely have to work on our power game,” Reid said. “We still have there. Once again, he only works on the disco disc and produces opportunities to score goals. ”

East Longmeadow will play Groton-Dunable on Saturday at 4:10 pm, while Ludlow will play the number 3 of West Springfield on Thursday at 8:30 pm
