Mitero Warren-A man from Cortland died and a Warren man was seriously injured in an accident early on Tuesday morning on state route 45.

Ohio’s state road patrol said that Chad Coffee, 43, from Cortland, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu South on Route 45 at 1:35 am, when he traveled to the left of the center and collided head -on with a Chevrolet Trax 2017 promoted by Maurice Douglas, 48, by Warren.

Café was declared dead on the scene, while Douglas was initially transported by the EMS of Champion EMS to the Insight & Medical Hospital in Trumbull. He was later taken by helicopter to the St. Elizabeth Youngstown hospital due to the seriousness of his wounds, according to a press release from the Ohio state road patrol.

The launch affirms that neither Douglas nor coffee carried their seat belts at the time of the accident, and it is believed that speed and alcohol are factors.

The accident remains under investigation.

This was the 37th unrelated accident in Trumbull County in less than a month, according to the Statistics and Analysis of Traffic Safety (OSTAT) of the Highway Patrol.

Of those accidents, it was only suspected that three involved serious injuries.
