The extreme right of Germany is criticized in the four -way electoral debate

The extreme right alternative for Germany (AFD) caught on Sunday when Foreign Minister Olaf Scholz faced his rivals in a four -road television debate, just a week before the national elections.

Scholz said Germany learned the lessons of his Nazi past. “There is no cooperation with the extreme right,” he said.

The Foreign Minister also recalled comments from the co -founder of the AFD that refers to the Nazi regime as “just bird shit” in 1,000 years of German history.

The AFD candidate for Chancellor, Alice Weidel, refused to criticize the comments in Sunday’s debate, labeling her party as a “liberal conservative” party.

“You can insult me here everything you want. You are insulting millions of voters,” he said. “It doesn’t affect me at all. I represent these voters.”

The conservative leader Merz described the AFD “a radical party, largely extremist of the right” and promised that his CDU/CSU alliance of Centro Central would not cooperate with the party in the next Parliament.
