Dangerous for extreme cold will affect much of the work week

We started Monday morning with cold weather for our counties in northern Siouxland.

This notice will be in force until noon today.

Even after the end of the warning, it will remain very cold.

The maximum diurnal will be in the unique digits under zero today.

Then the snow is affecting our counties and towns in the west, which makes it difficult to travel this morning.

If you live in the blue area, you have the best opportunity to get 1 to 2 inches of snow.

The snow will occur mainly this morning.

On Monday night and Tuesday morning they will be extremely cold.

The minimums during the night will be anywhere from 10 to 20 degrees below zero.

Then, wind chills will be -30 to -40 degrees below zero.

This has caused the National Meteorological Service to issue an extreme cold warning for all our counties in Siouxland.

Then, all day on Tuesday, things will continue to be cold with maximums in individual digits less than zero.

The winds will make it look like we have between 20 and 35 degrees below zero.

There is a good possibility that we can tie or establish new cold records.

Again, things will be cold.

Due to extreme cold conditions, we have broadcast first alert weather until Thursday.

Then, this weekend, our maximums will rise to the 30s and 40s.

Next week is also warm with maximum in the 40s and 50s.
