Woman extracted from the car, transferred after the crash near Woodstock; 2 Other serious injured – Shaw Local

A woman was transferred by plane to a hospital after the first responders released her from her vehicle after an accident nearby Stanza Tuesday afternoon.

The Woodstock Firefighters/Rescue District was called to the Kishwaukee Valley Road, near Woodstock, just after 4:15 pm on Tuesday, said public information officer Alex Vucha.

While the teams were on their way, the people who call additional 911 reported that a vehicle was smoking and the driver trapped inside, which caused an improved response for entrapment, Vucha said.

Firefighters arrived in six minutes and found an accident of three vehicles with strong damage, Vucha said. A driver was caught and two other people were seriously injured.

The teams worked for 30 minutes to get a woman driving one of the vehicles. He was then transferred to a medical helicopter at the Northwestern Woodstock hospital and was transferred in a critical condition to defend the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Another driver and a passenger were taken in ambulance to local hospitals with serious injuries and the third driver rejected medical attention, Vucha said.

The Mchenry County Sheriff’s office is investigating the accident, Vucha said.
