Tate Brothers leaves Romania, in the direction of the United States: Report

ISTANBUL

Andrew and Tristan Tate departed from Romania for the United States for a private jet after they were forbidden to leave the country for more than two years, sources told the BBC on Thursday.

The Tate brothers, who still face serious criminal charges in Romania, which include violation, human trafficking and money laundering, supposedly left the capital of Bucharest, with reports from local media that suggest that Florida is their probable destination.

Despite their departure, the legal problems of the Tates remain unsolved.

Prosecutors in Romania have declared that the Tates must return to Romania at the end of this month to comply with the terms of their continuous legal status.

The Romanian address to investigate organized crime and terrorism issued a statement confirming that the investigation into the Tates is still active and its request to withdraw the charges has been denied.

Prosecutors clarified that while their request to leave Romania has been accepted, preventive judicial measures remain in force.

They continue to face separate charges in the United Kingdom and an additional case in Florida.

Earlier this month, Romanian Foreign Minister Emil Huzeanu said during an interview that Richard Grenelll, a special envoy of the president of the United States, Trump, had brought the case of Tates during a conversation at the Munich Security Conference, which took place from February 14 to 16.

While Huzeanu said he did not see Grenell’s approach as “pressure,” Grenell told The Financial Times that his conversation was not a substantive conversation, but added: “Support to the Tate Brothers as evidenced by my tweets publicly available.”

Andrew Tate, an influential of American British social networks who has proudly described himself as a misogynist, and his brother was arrested in Romania in 2022 and accused the following year of a scheme that involved exploiting seven Romanian women, seducing them and sustaining them against their will while filming them in sexual acts and selling their feet online.

The Tates have denied the charges.
