Fieger File’s law present on behalf of the Township monitor firefighter injured in outrage

Bay City, Mi-A of the most outstanding law firms in Michigan has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a Bay County firefighter, seriously injured in an accident outrage on New Year’s Day 2024.

Peter R. O’Toole de Detroit Fieger Law On February 24, he filed a lawsuit at the Bay County Circuit Court on behalf of the firefighter of the Municipality of Monitor Jeff Sargeson.

The demand is addressed to Brandon A. Robetoy, 50, as accused.

“We will collect as much as possible for Jeff in regard to this,” said O’Toole. “Most likely to deal with the effects of the atrocious acts of Mr. Robetoy for the rest of his life. Frankly, no amount of compensation will make it complete, but we are going to do everything possible to make it a reality. “

The demand describes how Sargeson early in the morning of January 1, 2024, responded to multiple accidents in an icy section of US-10 near the interstate ramp 75 in the north direction. Robetoy led a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado truck in an east direction in US-10, hit a sign and then crashed with Sargeson, which was stopped outside his vehicle, according to the demand.

Robetoy then “fled illegally on the scene,” O’Toole wrote. Sargeson suffered serious and permanent wounds, including traumatic brain injury and fractures in the ribs, ankle and leg. Sargeson has also stayed with posttraumatic stress disorder and economic difficulties, O’Toole wrote.

The demand contains a single count, that of serious negligence.

Sargeson is looking for a ruling in his favor of less $ 25,000, the minimum amount necessary to file a lawsuit in the circuit court.

O’Toole filed the lawsuit the day before Robetoy appeared in the Bay County District Court for charges In individual positions not to stop in a traffic accident, resulting in serious injuries and not informing an accident to accessories. The first count is a serious five -year crime, while the second is a crime under 90 days.

Although Robetoy on January 5, 2024, contacted the Police and identified himself as the driver of Colorado, Bay County Prosecutor, Nancy E. Borushko, did not accuse him. His successor, Michael P. Kanuszewski, issued charges against Robetoy on February 6.

Fieger Law conducted his own investigation into the accident, said O’Toole. He hoped to file the lawsuit until prosecutors determined whether to present criminal charges.

“When it is an incident as severe as Jeff was, a police investigation is expected to take a little more time than his average fender bender,” O’Toole said.

He praised the investigation of the soldiers of the Michigan State Police on the accident. Taking into account the findings of the investigation of that investigation and Fieger Law, O’Toole was surprised that Robetoy was not accused before.

“I could never make sense to why (prosecutors) would not proceed,” he said. “It is a first respondent, someone hit him and left, and not make that a priority like an elected prosecutor is beyond me.”

Robetoy is free with a cash security bonus of $ 5,000 and is represented in his criminal matter by Bay Matthew L. Reyes. Robetoy will appear for a preliminary examination on his criminal issue on March 12.
