Stevie Nicks reveals the only album that terrified Fleetwood Mac

For the entire tumult in Fleetwood Mac’s History, there was a reason why the best known alignment of the band, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood, joined through tests and tribulations for more than a decade.

It was a homonym album that would mark the arrival of this edition of five pieces: the 1975 edition, that is, not to be confused with the 1968 debut, which saw Mick Fleetwood, Jeremy Spencer, John McVie and Bob Brunning to join forces for what would be known as Peter Green, and the original Fleetwood MAC of Peter Green.

In 1977, RumorsThe second departure from the group would demonstrate its most fundamental, widely praised even almost 50 years after one of the best albums of all time. The registration of 11 tracks became a decisive moment in the history of rock, consolidating the place of Fleetwood Mac in the pantheon of legendary acts. While the change could have been the only one consisting in the story of Fleetwood Mac, Is the sound of Rumors That sounds and resonates in the decades since its launch. Is the sound of Rumors That became synonymous with the band of the band for many. And it could be said that it is the sound of Rumors That firmly planted them as a perennial sheet favorite with each generation that passes throughout the world.

Three more albums followed before Lindsey Buckingham left in 1987, but if we stop for a moment to reflect on the first two albums of this classical alignment, the Stevie Nicks de Stevie Prowess It is undeniable. Of ‘Rhiannon’ and ‘Landslide’ in Fleetwood Mac (1975) to ‘dreams’ and ‘woman of gold dust’ in RumorsNicks firmly entered the center of attention as a composer, one that continued to shine over the years, both as a band member and a solo artist. This was particularly evident in Rumors Only the band’s full track, the monolith that is ‘the chain’.

His contributions to the group would offer only a look at their abilities, which reached its full fruit in their debut album as a solo artist in 1981. The main song, which opens Bella DonnaImmediately he presents to both his fears and his dreams of living the life of a musician, but also those who stand out when they give that jump of faith: Nicks, in this case, hoping to land in his own art. The thrust and pull of this apprehension and aspiration deal with the title itself, which means “beautiful woman” in Italian, but also refers to a mortal herb in witch and witchcraft stories, often a poisonous ingredient in its mortal beers, in other words, a movement that can kill you if you are not careful.

With the collection of ten tracks that includes the tastes of ‘Stop Draggin’ My Heart Arund ‘, a duo with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the anthem’ Edge of Seventionen ‘and’ Leather and Lace ‘who saw her collaborate with Don Henley, Nicks really did not have to fear in terms of her ability to show musical excellence. At this point, however, I could understand why feelings of concern could really turn to their Fleetwood Mac bandmates.

As Nicks said, “I think Fleetwood Mac was terrified at the beginning that he was going and doing the race solo.”

He certainly had the command, domain and ingenuity if he wanted to. However, his love for the band prevailed as he recalled: “I loved my band … I was never going to do that. I tried to make them very clear that they did not even have to worry about that because I worshiped being in Fleetwood Mac.”

It is here where my mind returns to the disturbances surrounding the ‘silver springs’ sample and their exclusion from Rumors“Scesas of her writer.” In what could be perceived as a direct desaul, the song appeared as a side B to ‘go in its own way’, written by the romantic and musical partner of Nicks again, out again, Lindsey Buckingham, before he finally receives his deserved recognition. The danceThe 1997 live album that marked the return of the band to the stage together. Perhaps this ten -year break, along with the growing threat of Nicks’s solo career, raided the way for a new respect, giving credit to where it was due, some could even say, much delay.
