Biden has voted in the 2024 election.

President Joe Biden stood in line for about 40 minutes Monday before casting his vote.

He handed his ID to the poll worker, who had him sign and then announced: “Joseph Biden is now voting.”

As Biden voted behind a black curtain, some first-time voters announced themselves and the room erupted in cheers for them.

Alaska Sen. Murkowski says neither Trump nor Harris will get her vote

U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, an Alaska Republican and outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump, says she will not vote for him or Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, in the general election.

“I want to vote for someone and not against someone,” he told the Anchorage Daily News. She added that she was disappointed with the decisions of the two main parties.

Murkowski voted to impeach Trump after the Jan. 6 insurrection and also called on him to resign. He said he did not vote for him in 2016 or 2020.

“I’m going to vote for someone and I hope I feel good about it, even knowing that that individual probably won’t be in the winning column,” Murkowski said.

Murkowski declined to say who would get her vote.

There are six other candidates on Alaska’s presidential ballot, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., although he dropped out of the race in August.

Biden lines up to cast his vote

When President Joe Biden arrived at the Delaware Department of Elections polling place on Monday, there was a long line of people waiting to vote.

He chatted with some and pushed an older woman in a wheelchair ahead of him in line. Everyone was voting early for the Nov. 5 election.

Harris: Trump is ‘obsessed with his grievances, with himself and with dividing our country’

Kamala Harris said Donald Trump’s Madison Square rally helped make her point about what was at stake in the election.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Harris said Sunday’s event “really highlighted the point I’ve been making throughout this campaign,” which is that Trump is “obsessed with his grievances, with himself, and with dividing our country, and it is in no way something that strengthens the American family, the American worker.”

Harris plans to make her closing argument Tuesday in Washington.

“There’s a big difference between him and me,” he said.

President Joe Biden heads to cast his vote

The findings of the survey, conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, speak to lingering concerns about the fragility of the world’s oldest democracy, nearly four years after former President Donald Trump’s victory. refusal to accept The 2020 election results inspired a multitude of his followers to storm the United States Capitol in a violent attempt to stop the peace transfer of power.

About 4 in 10 registered voters say they are “extremely” or “very” concerned about violent attempts to overturn the results after the November election. Biden has breakfast in Wilmington with Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester

President Joe Biden stopped by a breakfast spot near his home outside Wilmington, Delaware, with an old ally vying to represent Delaware in the U.S. Senate.

The president and Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester headed to The Legend Restaurant & Bakery in New Castle. Blunt Rochester, who has been Delaware’s only House member since 2017, is trying to become the first Black woman elected to represent Delaware in the U.S. Senate.

Biden formally endorsed Blunt Rochester in a video released Sunday night by the lawmaker’s campaign. He is scheduled to cast his early vote later Monday before returning to Washington.

Harris says he would take a cognitive test if asked

As former President Donald Trump continues to attack Vice President Kamala Harris with deeply personal insults, he also suggested she should undergo a cognitive test.

In an interview with CBS News, Harris said “sure” when asked if he would do that test.

“I would challenge him to take the same one,” Harris said. “I think he’s actually becoming more unstable and unhinged and has resorted to insults because he doesn’t really have any plan for the American people.”

It’s the same line Trump used when President Joe Biden was still running for president as questions arose about the 81-year-old’s age and mental acuity following his disastrous debate performance in June.

Trump is 78 years old and is now the oldest candidate to run for office.

Biden plans to vote early on Monday

President Joe Biden plans to cast an early vote Monday near his home outside Wilmington, Delaware, according to the White House.

Since 1970, except for a few years, Biden has held office or run for one during the election season. But this year, their hopes are pinned on a new generation of Democrats, including three on the Delaware ballot looking to make history.

Vice President Kamala Harris, whom Biden endorsed after dropping out of the presidential race in July, is vying to become the first Black woman and first person of South Asian descent to serve as president.

Meanwhile, state Sen. Sarah McBride is seeking to become the first openly transgender candidate to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

McBride is seeking to succeed Democratic Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, who is seeking to become the first Black woman from Delaware to win a seat in the U.S. Senate. She has served as Delaware’s only representative in the House since 2017.

On Sunday night, Biden formally endorsed Blunt Rochester and recorded a video for his campaign in which he called her “Delaware through and through.”

Harris highlights costs of living, abortion rights and border security as three immediate priorities

Kamala Harris says she has three immediate legislative priorities when she takes office, if she is elected president.

In an interview with CBS News, Harris said her first priority will be reducing costs for Americans with an expanded child tax credit and efforts to reduce the cost of food and make households more affordable. The second is to work to restore protection of the right to abortion and the third will be to work for the passage of a border security bill.

Harris and Republican Donald Trump are in a tight race for the White House.

Harris heads to Michigan

Kamala Harris will focus on manufacturing jobs Monday as she returns to Michigan.

She is ready to visit Corning’s next-generation Hemlock semiconductor facility. The Saginaw company received a $325 million investment from the CHIPS and Science Act, legislation passed by the Biden administration.

Then he’s touring a job training center in Macomb County. The election is a week and a day away, and Harris hopes to appeal to many different voting blocs in the battleground states, in a race tied with Donald Trump. He will give a closing speech in Washington on Tuesday.
