Truck driver seriously injured Wednesday in central Kansas crash

ZENDA, Kan. (WIBW) – A semi-truck driver was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Kingman County in south-central Kansas, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday at 6200 SW 90th Ave. The location was about 5 miles northeast of Zenda.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2004 Peterbilt semi-truck heading south on SW 90th Avenue ran off the road to the right (or west) side before overturning and stopping in the ditch.

The driver, James Robert Barker, 54, of Ellsworth, was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with serious injuries. The patrol said Barker was not wearing a seat belt.
