Strong winds will continue into the afternoon

Police say high winds will continue into this evening.

The Strategic Coordination Group for Storm Darragh met this morning to decide how to address this dangerous weather.

The group says there have been unusually strong north to northwest winds for this time of year, and that these winds will last until around 9 pm tonight.

The Department of Infrastructure is currently focusing on clearing and maintaining major routes around the island.
