The ruling on the airport controversy involving the Nigerian Super Eagles and the Libyan national team continues to spark controversy among senior officials of the Libyan Football Federation (LFF).

Members of the Nigerian team contingent were left unattended for a period of approximately 20 hours after their arrival at Al-Abraq airport for their initially scheduled flight. Africa Qualification match for the Nations Cup (AFCON).

This unfortunate situation caused a strong answer of the African Confederation American football (CAF), which ultimately resulted in the disciplinary committee imposing a fine of $50,000 on Libya, in addition to awarding three points and three goals in favor of the Super Eagles.

Al-Shaeri also highlighted that the treatment given to the Libyan team upon their arrival to Nigeria It was similar to the incidents they faced.

He suggested that if it were not for the strong media presence of the Nigerian Federation and the influence of its professional players in major European clubs, the ruling would not have been so severe.
