Convicted child rapist slashed ex, pushed her onto New York subway tracks in front of terrified teenage daughters: DA

A convicted child rapist on parole slashed his ex-girlfriend and then pushed her onto Manhattan subway tracks in front of their teenage daughters, prosecutors alleged Thursday.

Michael Blount, 29, grabbed the 37-year-old victim by the hair and tried to slit her throat while she was waiting for an A train at the 125th Street station around 11 p.m. on Nov. 5, according to the District Attorney’s Office. Manhattan.

The victim tried to protect herself by preventing the attacker from reaching her neck as he repeatedly slashed her face with a razor blade, prosecutors said.

Blount allegedly pushed the woman onto the tracks, just feet from her daughters, who were able to get their mother onto the platform just 2 minutes before the next train arrived, according to the district attorney’s office.

The psychopath fled and evaded police for several weeks, all while calling, texting and harassing the victim and her daughters, prosecutors said.

He was finally arrested on Dec. 28 and formally charged Wednesday with attempted murder and other charges.

“As alleged, Michael Blount brutally cut his ex-girlfriend before pushing her onto train tracks in front of his teenage daughters,” District Attorney Alvin Bragg said in a statement.

“Despite what must have been a terrifying attack, one of her daughters was able to pull her mother off the tracks, likely saving her life.”

Just before the chilling attack, Blount had molested his ex-girlfriend and her children at a Harlem deli.

Before the attack, Blount had allegedly harassed his ex-girlfriend and her family at a Harlem deli after calling her repeatedly, according to court documents.

She turned her back on him and left the store with her daughters, but Blount followed them downstairs to the A train station, prosecutors charged.

He then returned to the deli and purchased a single razor blade, before returning to the subway and attempting to kill the victim, the district attorney’s office said.

A passerby hailed the woman and her daughters to a taxi that took them to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital to treat their injuries, which required plastic surgery, according to prosecutors.

Blount is a convicted sex offender and a registered “sexually violent offender,” state records show.

He was convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl (a stranger) in Brooklyn in 2013 and served seven years in prison, according to state Department of Corrections records.

Blount was also charged with robbery and was released from prison in 2020 and on parole until 2025.

He pleaded not guilty in Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday and was ordered held without bail.
