Season 3 of ‘The Squid Game’: everything we know

Spoilers for The Squid Game below.

Squid Game It could have easily ended after one season. In fact, that’s what the show’s creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, wanted. “I had no intention of doing a second season, because the overall process of writing, producing and directing the series was very challenging. Hwang won’t sugarcoat it; compensation influenced his decision. “Although the first series was a huge global success, I honestly didn’t make much,” he says. he told the BBC in November. “So doing the second series will also help me offset the success of the first.” He added: “And I didn’t finish the story completely.”

He’s not just saying that. First he had the idea of Squid Game 15 years ago, for a two-hour film that never saw the light of day, according to the Associated Press. He later took the idea for a series to Netflix, where it really took off. After all this time, it must be satisfying to close the story properly. ‘I learned that I shouldn’t give up. If you love something and want to create something, it may not work now, but the time may come later. Or that idea could be the source of inspiration for something else,” Hwang said. AP.

These final two seasons will give Hwang the opportunity to bring the Squid Game saga to finally end (and give it a much-needed break). With season 2 already airing, its final episodes set up what is sure to be a great conclusion to the bloody Battle Royale series. This is what we know so far.

when will it Squid Game Third season premiere?

The final season will debut in 2025, but Netflix has yet to announce an official release date. He second and the third season was filmed consecutively, according to Varietywhich means the wait for the third season won’t be as long as the last.

Hwang said Variety in another interview on December 26 that “after the release of season 2, I believe we will soon announce the release date of season 3.” “I probably expect it to be released around summer or fall of next year.”

What will season 3 be about?

The bloodbath of the season 2 finale leaves some questions that will be answered in the final chapter. First, there’s Gi-hun’s failed mutiny and Jung-bae’s death. How will these losses affect Gi-hun next season? Will he be motivated to avenge his fallen friend or give up? He and the figurehead must also meet again, which means Gi-hun might finally discover that his enemy is the man who disguised himself as player 001.

talking to VarietyHwang said the question heading into season 3 ‘now is, what will he be like? What state will Gi-hun be in? And what will he choose to do? Will you continue with the mission? Will he give up or persist? And then you will meet our character Gi-hun at a very critical crossroads as the third season begins. Gi-hun will not be the man he was in season 2.

Some other questions: Will Hyun-ju, who returned to the players’ barracks to look for magazines, take on the Pink Guards alone? And will she survive? Will Jun-ho’s crew ever find Squid Game Island to save Gi-hun and the other players? And what will they do with their captain? Oh, and what is the mysterious smuggling operation going on among the Pink Guards?

Hwang won’t reveal anything for now. When asked about season 3, he responded simply to Associate Press: “It’s better than season 2.”

Can I see a trailer?

No trailers or first-look photos have been shared yet. The closest thing we have so far is the end credits scene from the Season 2 finale, which shows Young-hee, the “red light, green light” doll, with another giant doll. Could this mean that players will have to make another version of the game with two killer dolls watching their every move? Isn’t the original version difficult enough?
