Hit-and-run accident caught on camera in East Hollywood: Police searching for driver months later

He Los Angeles Police Department is looking for a driver months after supposedly ran over a woman with your car in East Hollywood. On Friday, the department released surveillance footage of the crash in an effort to help identify the suspect.

The accident occurred on October 16, shortly before 4 a.m. at the intersection of Western Avenue and Clinton Street.

In the video, a woman is seen standing on the sidewalk on Clinton Street when a man gets out of a car and approaches her. As the two talk, they walk towards the intersection. The man eventually turns to walk back to his car, while the woman continues through the intersection.

That’s when police said a driver drove through the intersection, striking and seriously injuring the 22-year-old. The driver did not stop.

Officers said they believe the driver may have been in a Toyota Camry, and that the man who was with the woman just before the crash also left before officers arrived.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call LAPD West Traffic Division detectives.
