Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s best new movie just arrived on Amazon Prime

We’re in a world where even really fun movies can be absolutely destroyed at the box office if their release timing is slightly off, they’re advertised poorly, or they’re just plain unlucky. I’m not the industry analyst to explain what happened to The scapegoat when it hit theaters last year, but widespread reports confirm that it greatly exceeded expectations.

However, Universal’s loss is its gain, because Amazon Prime subscribers can now stream the film at no additional cost on Prime Video. Amazon included it in a sizzling reel boasts of new additions to the service in January and is available now.

By turning it on for a home theater session, you’ll have access to a really fun movie, one I thoroughly enjoyed on a recent long-haul flight. It’s a film that doesn’t take itself too seriously at any point and is almost as much a comedy as it is an action romance.

It stars Ryan Gosling as a beleaguered stuntman who comes out of retirement when the woman he thought he would end up with asks him for help. Played by Emily Blunt, she is a no-nonsense director looking for success, but she herself is plagued by a missing protagonist. Cue a silly but fun plot about kidnappings and mob bosses, packed with stunts.

When you have top talents like Blunt and Gosling, who can boast Oscar nominations and have starred in some big movies, you’d think people would go to the movies to enjoy their chemistry. They also have a spark, with great comic timing between them and some charming, touching looks.

In reality, however, it’s those stunts that will linger in your memory after seeing them. The scapegoat. From impossible jumps to surfing some metal down a main street, they all look fantastic, and Ryan Gosling’s stunt performers do a truly excellent job.

So, this is definitely one to add to your watchlist – get it there and watch it without having to pay an extra penny. It’s the kind of fun, silly movie that everyone best streaming services That’s why you should aspire to have it in your collection.
