Driver killed after collision with construction vehicle in Saanich, BC

A driver died Friday night after colliding with a construction vehicle in Saanich.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. at the intersection of Quadra Street and Tattersall Drive, the Saanich Police Department said in a news release Saturday.

When officers arrived, they found the crashed vehicle with its driver, the only occupant, unconscious inside.

“Despite the efforts of our officers, Saanich Fire Department and paramedics, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene,” police said.

The crash occurred on the east side of the intersection, which remained closed to traffic while police investigated Saturday.

The investigation is ongoing and the deceased driver’s family has been notified, police said.
