Justin Fields’ Trade Compensation for Pittsburgh Steelers Revealed

Justin Fields’ Trade Compensation for Pittsburgh Steelers Revealed

He Pittsburgh Steelers Trade compensation for Justin Fields has been made official after the team’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Fields didn’t play 50 or more percent of the snaps this season despite starting the first six games, meaning the team will trade a sixth-round pick instead of a fourth-round pick. That was the only condition of the trade, and the playoffs have no bearing on the compensation of the deal.

If the Steelers wanted to play Fields in their Wild Card Round game, they could do so without consequences to the draft compensation that would return to the Bears in the Fields trade.

Fields will finish the season with a 4-2 record as a quarterback, having thrown for 1,106 passing yards, five touchdowns and just one interception. He added more than 200 yards rushing and another five touchdowns.

Fields is a pending free agent this offseason, and while he was the Steelers’ backup, it seems likely he’ll be in line for a starting job elsewhere. It could be in Pittsburgh, as the fights over Russell Wilson have raised questions about Wilson’s future in Pittsburgh; It is far from certain that Fields will return in 2025.
