Our writing room occasionally informs stories under a “personal” line. Often, the “staff” byline is used by rewriting basic news reports that originate in official sources, as a press release from the city on a road closure, and that require few or no report. Sometimes, this line is used when a news includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by adding previously reported news from various sources. If external sources are used, it is observed within the story.
