All cases against Pro -Kannada activists to be withdrawn, announces the main minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah – Karnataka News

The Karnataka government decided to withdraw all cases against pro-kannada activists. Prime Minister Siddaramaiah made the announcement when inaugurating the statue of the ‘Kannada goddess’ in Vidhana Soudha.

According to Prime Minister, the Minister of the Cabinet, Shivraj Tangadi, approached him to recover the cases registered against pro-kannada activists.

“Minister Tangadi gave me a spread that mentioned the withdrawal of the cases registered against pro-kannada activists. The cases registered against pro-kannada activists who protested in support of the Kannada language will be withdrawn, ”said Siddaramaiah in the event, which was also attended by Deputy Minister DK Shivakumar.

He then requested that a formal request be presented so that the government could withdraw those cases. “We have formed a subcommittee under the Interior Minister. This request will be presented and presented at the subcommittee, which facilitates processing the withdrawal of these cases, ”said the prime minister.

This is a marked change of his previous position when he said that measures would be taken against those who violated the law.

He also encouraged people who live in Karnataka to learn Kannada. “People of any language … who lives in Karnataka, must learn Kannada. I ask Kannadigas to talk in Kannada with people who speak other languages. You should not speak in their language. Instead, we should teach them our language,” he said.

According to him, “this situation has emerged because people in Karnataka stay here without learning the language.”

In December, members of Pro-Kannada groups went to a fuss in stores and shopping centers in Bengaluru That showed English signs.
