Golden Valley police are looking for a serious crime against the director of the Assistant School

At the end of November, the Golden Valley police responded to a call that involved two students fighting, one of whom had brass knuckles, at the Robbinsdale Academy school.

According to the police, one of the students suffered a brain shock and received stitches from the injuries suffered in the fight with those brass knuckles.

Golden Valley police chief, Virgil Green, told 5 Eyewitness News that the deputy director of the school, Patrick Burgy, told the officers that he was not sure if the brass knuckles were used and that he did not know where they were They had really used themselves.

“He did not take it seriously, and under the statute, it is a serious crime to have brass knuckles in a school because they are considered a dangerous weapon, just like a gun or a knife,” Green said.

Green told 5 Eyewitness News that his department then obtained a search warrant and found the brass knuckles in the attached bubble desktop.

“Basically he said, well, let’s say I found them in the bathroom,” Green said. “Well, during the course of our investigation, it was determined that he did not find the brass knuckles; The teacher gave him the brass knuckles that broke the fight. “

Green originally asked the city’s lawyer to carry a minor crime burge of an investigation obstruction. But, Chief Green said that the city lawyer told him that there was evidence to charge Burge with a serious crime.

On Monday, Green told 5 Eyewitness News that he asked the Hennepin County prosecutor’s office to carry serious crime obstruction.

“Our detective division affirmed that criminal complaint to review the office of the Hennepin County prosecutor,” Green said. “Then, they are reviewing that complaint as a serious crime for obstruction of an investigation.”

The schools in the Robbinsdale area declined to comment. Attempts to get to Burge for comments have not been successful.
