The prosecutors of the city of Quezon clear the vice president Sara Duterte de Assault, raps of coercion

Manila: The Office of Prosecutors of the city of Quezon has dismissed the case of direct assault and coercion of tombs presented by a police officer against Vice President Sara Duterte.

Duterte, together with his security assistant, Colonel Raymund Dante Petina Lachina, was slapped with a complaint for violating articles 148 (direct assault), 151 (disobedience to authority) and 286 (coercion of tombs) under the revised Criminal Code For the Lieutenant of the Police. (Dr.) Van Jason Conag Villamor.

Villamor filed the complaint claiming that he was attacked in the height of the shock to transfer to Atty. ZULEIKA LÓPEZ DEL VETERANS MEDIAL CENTER (VMMC) to the St. Lukes Medical Center in the city of Quezon last November 2024.

López, head of personnel of the vice president, suffered a panic attack after it was summoned by contempt for the Chamber Committee on good governance and public responsibility in relation to the use of funds from the vice president’s office.

The Chief of the National Police of the Philippines (PNP), Rommel Marbil, supported the presentation of the complaint as proof that the police are not afraid of anyone.

However, by dismissing the complaint, the prosecutor of the city of Quezon said that the complaint is not backed by the evidence.

“Interestingly, not even one of the mills of Pltcol. Villamor corroborated his statements regarding the alleged attack, use of physical strength, intimidation, resistance, disobedience, violence and threats, ”said the resolution.

“They did not narrate the encounter between the parties in their respective affidavits. Nor did they discuss the behavior of Pullcol Villamor after the incident, which could have persuaded us that it was threatened and intimidated, if he did, “said the resolution.

“Thus, we are obliged to dismiss the complaint about insufficiency of evidence,” he added. – Philippine Daily Inquirer/Ann
