Roundup: The wrestling of Saugus-Pabody affirms the title of NEC

It was always going to be a magical season for the wrestling team of Saugus-Pabody. After losing his teammate Freddy Espinal in September, the team fought in their name in each game and now they can officially call double meeting champions of the Northeast Conference.

Saugus-Peabody defeated Beverly 46-29 in the enemy territory and are an impressive 16-0 in the year.

The magicians secured their tenth victory of the season to qualify for the postseason. Marblehead was directed by Tessa Andriano with 16 points. Greta Sachs played her best season game ending with 12 points, according to chief coach Paul Moran.

“Everyone contributed and it was a great victory in the team,” said Moran.

Lynn Classical 39

Triton 35

Rams 11-4 are still rolling. Lynn Classical was directed by Keisha Pérez (11 points) and Divine Egbuta (10).

“The game tight until the end,” said classic coach Tom Sawyer. “He was tied, 28-28, after the third quarter, but gave credit to the children. They made enough moves to win the game and I am very proud of them. ”

The Tanners lost a nearby battle with Gloucester. Maia Davis scored 11 points and her teammate Aliana Ryan finished with nine to lead Peabody. Peabody will seek to recover on Friday against North Andover.

Santa Maria lost a rompe and Connery on Wednesday. It was a game without goals up to a remaining minute in the second period, when Colton Carpenter opened the scoring to give St. Mary’s the advantage. The goal was assisted by Joey Calder and Finn Racki.

Unfortunately, Pope Francis fought and found the game goal with 40 seconds in the game after the Spartans could not clear the album.

Then, in extra time, Pope Francis scored an escape goal.

Matt Smith Jr. registered 24 salctions.

“Really proud of how they played tonight. They didn’t deserve to lose. It’s hockey, Bishop Feehan,” said Spartans coach Matt Smith. “Hopefully we can learn from the few mistakes we made that cost us the game.”

The Spartans continue to shoot with an impressive 7-0 victory at home.

St. Mary’s obtained an orthopedic device from Shaye Denning and Addie Markiewicz to lead the team, while Alyssa Norden, Keira Twomey and Tristan Shea found the background of the network.

Megan Donato recorded his second consecutive whitish.

The Vikings protected domestic ice with a laundering victory. Reese Ferrara scored the opening goal in the first period before Talia Martucci added an insurance goal in the second period. Riley Towse kept 26 shots.

Athletics

It was a great day for Peabody’s athletics. Upon entering the game, if the boys won, they would be crowned champions of the Northwest Conference, and if the girls won, they would make sure of the title of NEC with Marblehead.

The boys did their job with a 50-26 victory to be crowned champions.

On the girl’s side, the Tanners won 57-29 to win a part of the NEC title with Marblehead.

Kayley Bunn, Tamara Kemigsha, Ella Braz, Avery Marcus, Lauren Foley, Jane Haight, Makayla Kokonezis and Alessandra Forgione won events for Peabody.

Brooke Lomasney took third place in the 1,000 meters and Emma Wardle took third in the mile to help ensure victory for Peabody.
