Commander Louise Adefoot said: ‘We are well prepared for these protests, having been in conversations with both sets of organizers in recent weeks.

‘We have officers deployed in significant amounts to provide peace of mind to the community in general, and to give us the ability to intervene quickly and decisively if incidents of crimes or disorder occur.
