This is the terrifying moment in a United Airlines plane with more than 100 passengers on board caught fire during takeoff.

United Airlines Flight 1382 stopped abruptly on the track of George Bush’s intercontinental airport in Houston, Texas, before he even took off.

The passenger Ashlyn Sharp told Fox News: “(The crew) finally made us go down the emergency slide in the rear (of the plane) when they realized that we were not going to remain in our seats much longer.

“Then, we end up trapped in the asphalt for approximately two and a half hours.

“Finally, they brought a lot of ferries, ambulances and the police arrived.”

The Texas incident occurs only a few days after two fatal accidents in Washington, DC and Philadelphia.

A collision between a commercial flight and a military helicopter in the capital of the nation claimed the lives of 67 people.

The hopes of the survivors faded quickly when rescue teams worked during the night in dark and cold conditions.

After a few hours, the mission changed a rescue to a recovery operation with all feared passengers.
