Sweden firing later: “The worst mass shot in the history of Sweden,” says the prime minister, since the reason for the attacker is not yet clear | News from the world

The Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Sweden now addresses the media.

Ulf Kristersson, the prime minister, is the first to speak, who says it is the “worst mass shooting in Swedish history.”

“Today we have witnessed brutal and mortal violence against completely innocent people,” he says.

Kristerson also urges people to give the police the space to do their job, amid reports that they are carrying out raids in several properties.

Gunnar Strommer, the Minister of Justice, says it is difficult to take the magnitude of what has happened today.

“We know that about ten people have been killed and many others were injured,” he says.

“Our police and health workers are taking care of these people.

“The main suspect is now considered one of the people who died. He was a person not known by the police.

“We still don’t know why this happened or what could have been the reasons. We hope to have those answers.”
