Alex Debrincat’s competitiveness, the instincts that lead the Wings network offensive

As is the case when Alex Debrincat notes, he was giving most of the credit to the teammate who prepared him for the goal.

This was later Extra -time victory on Sunday in VancouverA debrincat game scored twice, including the winner of the game in extra time in a feed by Lucas Raymond. The extra time goal was the 23 of the Debrincat season, drawing it with Dylan Larkin for team leadership.

Interestingly, also, Debrincat reached 50 goals as a Wings player in his 135th game. Debrincat is the fastest to reach 50 goals with the wings since Brett Hull did it in 130 games since 2001-03.

The winning goal was that a debrincat has often scored in his career. In a hurry, capable of unleashing a single precise and effective timer, and finding the right places in the ice to obtain prime score opportunities.

“His guy was lost in our area when we picked it up,” Debrincat said about the winning goal of the game in Vancouver. “I saw that it was going to be a long 3 to 2 (Rush), and Raymond was the deceased. He gave it to him and made a great play for me.”

Since becoming the Wings coach, Todd McLellan has spoken brilliantly about Debrincat’s ability and instincts for the game. Debrincat’s ability to be so effective for the front of the network, which hinders the life of opposite goalkeepers, despite the smallest size of Debrincat, was an area that McLelan has been impressed.

“You almost appreciate it more when you’re closer to him,” said McLellan. “You see it change after turn and there is more in your game than your shot and goals, for which we all know it. But the work it does in and around the blue paint, screens, your process of thought in the game of power, How it opens, its shot and competitiveness … I’m glad it is on our team.

“It is a skill (playing on the network) and he (Debrincat) has been taught, someone taught him how to move through his eyes and not only be there, and we are reaping the benefit of it now.”

But when talking about Debrincat after Sunday’s victory, McLellan was excited about Debrincat’s competitiveness.

Again, despite its 5 -foot and 8 -inch frame, Debrincat is not afraid to discard and fight with larger players. But even more, Debrincat wants the album in critical situation of the game.

“He is a competitor who is a scorer,” McLellan said. “The first is more important. He has skills and talent, but he wants those situations and wants the album on his tape. When you call his name (at the bank), things light up quite fast. He is hungry to return out there.

“A competitor who can write down is something really good.”

Patrick Kane He returned to the alignment on Sunday and played 18 minutes 19 seconds in 22 shifts, with three shots in the network.

For a large part of the game, McLellan had Kane in the fourth line with Joe Voleno and Christian FischerBefore again colliding with Kane with Debrincat and Andrew Copp Later in the game.

“It was a strange role for him (Kane), the way we played it, but we thought we had to have four lines,” said McLellan. “When he has the album, he can hold on to him for a long time and maybe doing some plays. We feel that being in that position can give us more opportunities to play the fourth line, and they were good.

“In the section, he (Kane) was lodged and did what he does.”

McLellan confirmed a national report during the weekend that the defense Jeff Petry He underwent surgery due to an unleashed injury and will leave six to eight weeks.

“He is unfortunate for him as an individual and certainly for our team,” said McLellan. “But we are going to work hard with him to recover it.”

… Tuesday’s game in Seattle was the 300th NHL Defenseman game Moritz SeiderThe race.

… Debrincat feels that wings are doing the necessary things to win from a defensive point of view.

“We are doing a good boxing job. The shots are from the outside, for the most part,” said Debrincat. “But we would like to have the album more, get more offensive opportunities and put more (goals) on the board.”
