School shooting at Örebro: Declaration of the President of the Congress

He President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, Marc Coolshas made the following statement:

“I am sad and horrified by yesterday’s shooting at an adult education center in the city of Örebro in Sweden. My thoughts at this tragic moment are with the Swedish authorities and the administration of the city, with the victims and their families, and with those who were trapped in the classroom and feared for their lives. No one should experience such fear and uncertainty. I want a quick recovery to those who were injured in this horrible attack.

“At all levels of government, we must do everything possible to avoid such violence in our societies.”
