Man riding an electric bicycle hit by truck, seriously injured

San Diego (CNS)-a 27-year-old man who rode an electric bicycle was seriously injured when he went on the sidewalk on Ocean Crest and on the road to a truck, a statement from the San Diego Police Department said Thursday.

The accident occurred at 8:30 pm on Wednesday at Otay Mesa Road in the west direction, said the police statement.

The cyclist was traveling west on the northern side of Otay Mesa Road and a 64 -year -old man who was driving a 2020 Hino truck was west at otay Mesa Road when the truck hit the pilot, the police said/ the bicycle rider was taken to a hospital and treated by a femur and fractured pelvis.

Alcohol was not a factor and injuries were not considered potentially mortal, said the police statement.

The SDPD Traffic Division officers were investigating the accident.
