The family of a high -profile Australian politician and businessman has gone against the wishes he clearly established in his will selling his vacation house of $ 15 million, arguing that the six -room house was not “using.”

Ron Walker, better known for being president of the Australian Corporation of the Grand Prix and Lord Mayor of Melbourne from 1974 to 1976, specifically wrote about the destination of Sorrento’s property against the beach in his will.

“It is my fervent desire that property (sorrento) does not sell and remain available for my family for future generations,” he wrote.

Walker, who died in January 2018 after a six -year battle against cancer, also played a role in the creation of Crown Casino.

His Toorak mansion was sold for more than $ 60 million in 2023, but did not want his sorrenting escape of six bedrooms to fall from his family’s hands.

However, their relatives decided that they no longer wanted to maintain the property, located 108 km southwest of the Melbourne CBD.

Gowan Stubbings, of Kay & Burton Portsea’s real estate agents, said Realestate.com.au ‘The family has moved to different parts of Australia’.

“And it is not used, so it is time for another person to enjoy that beautiful property,” they said.
