Nebraska Football Firm Analysis: Jamarion Parker corridor

Nebraska Football Firm Analysis: Jamarion Parker corridor

Nebraska’s new offensive coordinator, Dana Holgorsen, is a direct descendant of the “Air Raid” system of Hal Mumme/Mike Leach. He has led to the dismay of some Husker football fans who care that he will implement the happy pass scheme in the low season. Well, Holgorsen has flatly declared that will not be the case.

Certainly there will be more schematic alterations in the offensive this low season as Holgorsen builds a system for Big Ten, but will not see an offensive that reminds of Texas technological teams of the old 12 days.

Do not be misunderstood, when you have an NFL talent like Dylan Raiola to the helm, you will take advantage of that. But you will also see many haunts of the runners. I would suspect that an average game will have 35-40 passes and 25-30 transfers.

The Huskers lost three of their four best runners this low season. Rahmir Johnson exhausted his eligibility, while Dante Dowdell and Gabe Ervin transferred to the state of Kentucky and Kansas, respectively.

There are many unknowns that surround the room and the staff can still choose to add a transfer this spring if the correct type is available.

Nebraska lost a back of high school in class 2024 when Kewan Lacy retired at the end of the process and the staff could not find an adequate replacement. They entered this recruitment cycle with a concerted effort to add bodies to the room. After grabbing CONOR BOOTH Early, they continued chasing other backs and quickly settled Jamarion Parker As a superior objective.

The 5 -foot 11 -inch parker and 175 pounds was one of the first players, regardless of the class, to receive an offer from Mickey Joseph on April 25, 2022, after joining the head of the head of the head of the head Scott Frost, doing of Parker one of the first setback objectives of class 2025.

When Matt Rhule was hired in November 2022, he and his staff took over the recruitment, reacting to Parker in April 2023 and quickly making him one of his main objectives. Nebraska chief coach, along with the runner of runners EJ Barthel, coach of the supporters Rob Dvoracek and the then offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield, assumed an active role in his recruitment.

The outstanding Cardinal of St. Louis (Mo.) initially committed to Arkansas on September 1, 2023, about a final group that included Tennessee, Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Purdue and Louisville, largely due to their Relationship with then the coach on his back and associate chief coach Jimmy Smith.

Parker is great in relationships, and when Smith, who had been recruiting Parker since he was a first -year student, left the Razorbs for TCU after the 2023 season, opened the door to several programs that had been working hard to turn it . Together with Nebraska, some of the prominent schools that had been pressing Parker to reopen their recruitment were Alabama, USC, South Carolina, Michigan, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Minnesota.

Eg Barthel had been a constant presence in the recruitment of Parker, and that bonus led to a visit for Junior de Nebraska on January 20, 2024, where all staff treated it as a priority. Parker officially retired from Arkansas on March 25, two weeks after Smith’s departure from Fayetteville, and announced plans to officially visit Nebraska the next day, on March 26.

It is not surprising that TCU tried to get involved in his recruitment, while Alabama, who took him to the campus shortly after his challenge, and USC also made him a priority.

However, no one recruited Parker harder than Nebraska, and the staff could take him to the campus for an unofficial visit on April 4 to see a spring practice. Seeing the practice of the team in person was a change of play in its recruitment.

He liked to see how coaches worked and could imagine their role in the offensive. The staff did a good job when explaining how unique their set of skills and style with the other backs in the room and how it differentiated them from them were compared.

After that visit, the Huskers began to trend as the favorites to achieve it. Parker organized an official visit to Lincoln for June 21, and also talked about visiting TCU, Alabama and Carolina del Sur.

Parker was committed to Nebraska on June 5 and subsequently canceled the plans to visit another place. She is Husker’s first signer in the St. Louis area since Tre Bryant signed with Mike Riley in 2016. You have to return to Keith Williams, who is now the staff director of Matt Rhule players, and Mike Neill in 2006 before that.

With more than 30 offers in his name, Parker is qualified as a four -star prospect for the rivals and ESPN, and is classified as the general player No. 177 and No. 285 of the nation, respectively.

After running for 243 yards and four touchdowns as a first -year student, Parker was placed on national radars calling attention to the Regional Underclassman report in Kansas City in April 2022. In addition, he reinforced his actions when he registered track times of 10.99 (100m) and 22.63 (200 m) that spring as well.

He seemed ready for a second year campaign, but a family tragedy stopped his career that season. Parker did not play during his second year while crying the loss of older brother Harvey Holloway, who was shot dead in February 2022.

After the loss of one of his models to follow, Parker transferred the schools and took a football break during his second year to cry and concentrate on himself.

He returned to Cardinal Ritter before his third year and dedicated his game to the memory of his older brother. He also returned to the Regional Regional Regional Regional of ESPN in Kansas City in April 2023, and once again he was one of the most prominent in the event, effectively announcing his return to the national stage.

Parker ran for 1,644 yards and 22 touchdowns in just 147 hauls like Junior, while also caught 16 passes for 267 yards and four scores. He was appointed first All-Spate team for his game that season and took Cardinal Ritter to his second Glass Championship 5 Invictive.

Parker was even better as senior. The year ended with 1,730 yards per land in 168 haules and 24 total touchdowns and was again named the first All-State team.

Parker is a dynamic and explosive batter of home runs that can be used in several ways. He is a ray, he is elusive and quickly hits the march. It is dangerous in space and is a threat to score every time the ball touches. You will have to add another 15 to 20 pounds to your frame in next year or two to keep as regular taxpayer in the land game.

Even so, Nebraska has no other back like him on the list, which could lend himself to see the field immediately as a true first -year student.

Without putting unrealistic expectations about the child, there are some similarities with Tavon Austin, who was trained by Dana Holgorsen in West Virginia. Nebraska’s offensive coordinator could be creative with Parker and use it in several ways, either out of the field or aligned in the slot. Do not be surprised if you are also in special teams as a return man.

Parker registered early and participates in the winter conditioning. He will try to forge a niche in the offensive this spring with the aim of expanding his role as his body develops.
