Mini bicycle accident in Warwick, RI: Police

Providencia: A minor was seriously injured when his motorized mini bike crashed with a car in WarwickRI on Tuesday night, police said.

The officers responded to the area about 840 Post route Around 9:50 pm for a lameteristic accident reported, Warwick Police said in a statement.

There, the officers found the child “found in the south lane that exhibits signs of serious injuries,” authorities said. He was taken to the Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, according to the Police.

The car driver, a 31 -year -old man, was also on the scene and was not injured, police said.

An initial investigation carried out by the accident reconstruction team of the Police Department determined that the driver of the car was traveling north by Post Road after it stopped for a red light.

He was “approaching the entrance of the truck route to Walmart when three minors in mini gasoline and electricity bicycles went out against the unidirectional entrance to Post Road, while turning left in front of the car that was approaching,” the police said.

“The car hit the first mini bicycle with gasoline, sending the child to the south lane, before stopping,” said the police.

“The child did not wear a helmet,” the police added. “It was immediately determined that the speed was not a factor for the driver of the car.”

No charges had been filed against the driver of the car starting on Wednesday, police said.
