Stratford Road compared the ‘racing track’ when the man killed and residents say that ‘he will not walk on his back’

The locals say drivers so fast that they listen to the car before seeing it

Traumatized residents who live on a large Birmingham road where a man was killed in a success has compared it with a racing track.

The victim, who was said to be about 50 years old, was killed after his sling hit a BMW in Stratford Road, in Hall Greenaround 7.15pm on Tuesday (February 11).

West Midlands Police He said that BMW’s occupants had fled the scene, but then two men, 18 and 19, delivered and arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Today, when the work began to clean the rubble of the remains of the central reserve, the mourners put flowers for the deceased, which is said to be a local family man.

The residents talked about drivers who used the dual road as a racing track throughout the night and frequent accidents along the occupied section.

Some are so baffled by the sound of cars that accelerate that they try not to walk on their backs to traffic in case they ever need to jump on the road.

A Stratford Road resident at 40, said: “I left and was butcher shop with people everywhere.

“We were directing traffic towards the roundabout while emergency services did their own.

“All we know is that the victim was retiring from Beechcroft Avenue and was hit by the car.

“Police arrived and we were trying to return to traffic and a bus stayed.”

The resident said the road is like a ‘racing track’ with cars that run up and down throughout the night.

He added when the police perform execution operations, “everyone is in their best behavior,” but then returns to normal.

A couple, who is 60 years old, said: “In September, there was another accident where they ran along the road and hit two cars and our wall and car.

“When I heard the crash last night, I thought Oh no, not our car again.

“I could see smoke from BMW and my husband called the fire, ambulance and police.

“There were treasures of people and the paramedics were doing everything they could.

“Apparently, he was leaving Beechcroft to turn right and was beaten, the side of his car was given.

“It’s a racing track, they pass so fast, you don’t see the car, you just listen to it.”

Dean Thomas, 45, from Shirley said: “I live in Poppy Island and this route to go to Beechcroft Tennis Club.

“The number of times I’ve had to go to someone’s trip because they drive like manic.

“It is lethal and need speed potholes, since I have seen about three cars that make 50 mph.

“They run with each other: they use Poppy Island for the head of the bulls like a counterreloj and then the Bulls go to Robin Hood as the next stage.”

Bachulal Soanki, 83, who lives in Stratford Road, said: “They need a camera here because there are too many accidents along the way.

“Some of them are running and is very dangerous.”

Another place, Mohammed Naem, said: “He was in ALDI When it happened but I saw the consequences with the ambulance.

“This path is very dangerous and there have been three or four accidents in the last six months.”

A local mother said: “The road is a nightmare, the amount of speeding, everyone thinks it is a racing track.

“There is an incident at least once a month, but what can you do?”

David Paterson, 85, former policeman and resident, said: “I have seen the cars that exceed 70 mph, it’s like a racing track.

“I made a car end in my way and there was a fatality just in front.

“I hate walking the road back to my house from the stores because my back to traffic.”
