Seriously injured pedestrians after being hit by SUV in the center of Islip

A pedestrian was seriously injured after he was hit by a car in the center of Islip on Thursday night, said Suffolk County Police.

Around 5:45 PM, a 2015 Toyota Rav4 was southern in Connetquot Avenue when he hit a man who crossed west between Palermo and Atlantic streets.

The pedestrian, whose identity was being held awaiting a notification of relatives, was taken to the Hospital of the University of South Shore in Bay Shore to receive serious injury treatment, police said.

The 50 -year -old driver of Toyota, who was alone in the vehicle, was not injured.

The Toyota was confiscated for security control. The police ask anyone with information about the accident that communicates with the third team at 631-854-8352.
