San Diego woman sentenced for planning to send Bibles full of heroin to prisons

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A woman from San Diego that prosecutors say she planned to send bibles by mail containing hidden hero within the thorns of two California prisons was sentenced on Friday to more than seven years in prison.

The United States prosecutor’s office said that after Lucresia Stone-Rojas, 46, was arrested in December 2023, the investigators found packages aimed at prison in prison in their possession.

The packages contained the Bibles, which contained a total of approximately 23 grams of heroin hidden in the spines of the books, according to prosecutors.

Stone-Rojas declared himself guilty of possession with the intention of distributing heroin and also declared himself guilty of a separate position of being a criminal in possession of a firearm. It was sentenced in both cases on Friday to 86 months in prison.
