Do the Premier League teams win most matches? A little perspective after Saturday …

Do the Premier League teams win most matches? A little perspective after Saturday …

Newcastle United, measured against all other Premier League teams.

How do we evaluate it?

What Premier League team is overcoming an opponent?

For Newcastle United and the rest, it is surely reduced to what it always does.

How many games you are winning!

So I’ve taken a look at all 20 Premier League clubs this season …

Now we have six months in the 2024/25 season, this is how many games each Premier League team has won (and lost), in the competitions of the Premier League and the National Cup (from the morning of February 16, 2025):

22 and 3 Liverpool

20 and 8 Newcastle United

18 and 5 Arsenal

Forest 16 and 7

16 and 8 men city

14 and 6 Bournemouth

14 and 8 Chelsea

13 and 7 fulham

13 and 8 villas

13 and 8 Brighton

Palace 12 and 10

12 and 11 man u

12 and 15 Tottenham

11 and 13 Brentford

9 and 11 Everton

8 and 14 West Ham

8 and 16 wolves

7 and 18 Leicester

6 and 22 Southampton

4 and 16 Ipswich

I thought that perhaps a “little” perspective was needed, after the game in Etihad on Saturday.

As can see before, when it comes to national competitions this season, Newcastle United They are the second most successful, when it comes to winning football matches.

It is still only Liverpool who has won more national games this season than Eddie Howe’s team, only both Nufc as things are today.

Despite the loss in Man City, Newcastle United remains two victories more than arsenal.

Then it is Newcastle with four victories more than Forest and Man City.

Six more than Chelsea and Bournemouth, even more victories than that compared to the rest.

Some Newcastle United fans with a ridiculous reaction above the defeat after the defeat in Man City.

A recurring theme, certain Newcastle supporters who see any defeat as a great disaster that cannot be taken in the chin, which sometimes you play well, other times not so well. The same when it comes to the opposition.

The last four months and twenty -two United games (all competitions) have seen fifteen victories, two draws and only the five losses since the end of October. To win three times more games that you lose for a period of four months, does that not help you give any perspective when things like Saturday happen?

Nobody says that it was nothing more than a really poor performance against Man City, but not giving credit for this excellent series (including 12 victories in the last 15) in four months, is pathetic.
