Houston’s Rockets get a great victory with Ames Thompson in stars

For the first time since 2020, the Houston Rockets will have one of their players in the star game.

Originally, it was only going to be Alperen Sengun making its first appearance in the All-Star in its fourth season of the NBA, but will have a teammate to join its ranks.

The second year guard, Amen Thompson, was appointed for the list by general manager and coach Candace Parker in the TNT broadcast of Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night, which gave him the opportunity to shine in the bright lights in The biggest stage of the All-Star weekend.

Thompson will now join “Team C”, which also presents the MVP challenge of Rising Stars stars and the rookie candidate of the year Stephon Castle, Los Angeles Lakers Wing Dalton Knecht, Memphis Grizzlies Big Man Zach Edey, his teammate Jaylen Wells, the Utah Jazz guard, Keyonte George, Phoenix Suns, Ryan Dunn and Golden State Warriors, Big Man, Trayce Jackson-Davis.

Thompson and his new teammates will have to challenge the OG team, which presents LeBron James (La Lakers), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), the injured Anthony Davis (Dallas Mavericks), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), Kinvin Durant (Phoenix (Phoenix Suns), Damian Lillard (Milwaukee Bucks), James Harden (the clippers) and Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics).

Having Thompson competing against the best in the League is a sign that it belongs there, and that should make really happy rockets. When they took Thompson, they hoped to obtain the number 1 general selection Victor Wembanyama, who will also make their debut in the All-Star tonight, but the fact that both compete on the same night (despite the circumstances) should be seen as A victory for rockets.

Houston was able to write two All-Stars in a period of four years, which is very difficult for any team, even if the rockets had an excess of selections. His Draft success will be studied by front offices around the league for years because Houston has shown that he can quickly rebuild with some cunning Draft options.

Thompson and Senguun will participate in the star game tonight. The coverage begins at 7 PM CT in TNT or the Max application.
