Wounded protesters during the mass survey of July organized a demonstration at Shahbagh’s intersection this morning, demanding rehabilitation and compensation of the government.

Around 30-40 protesters gathered in Shahbagh around 11:00 am and established a deadline at 2:00 pm for the government to have conversations with them.

As there was no response for the government within the given time, the protesters blocked the intersection of Shahbagh.

Khaled Mansur, an officer in charge (OC) of the Shahbagh Police Station said the protesters blocked the lane to Banglastor on the road in front of the University of Medicine of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib (BSMMU) around 2:00 pm to press for your demands.

The vehicular movement was interrupted in that direction.

From 3:00 pm, the protesters remained in the streets, singing slogans, informs our photojournalist from the place. However, traffic still moved through other lanes of the intersection.

Protesters demanded financial assistance for those who have lost their ability to work permanently, including a monthly assignment of 20,000 TK, unique compensation and job training and employment in government or semigubernamental sectors for a member of the injured family.

They also requested a monthly stipend of TK 15,000 for those who have recovered and recovered work capacity, together with unique compensation and employment opportunities in government or semigubernamental institutions.

In addition, protesters urged the government to promulgate a special protection law that guarantees the safety of the injured and families of those killed in the uprising.

They demanded strict legal provisions for any threat, harassment or attempts of their lives. They also requested free psychological advice for affected families and the introduction of a free direct line to inform harassment and seek assistance.
