The founding member of the FDC, Tiko Ondoga, asks Museveni to forgive Besigye

Arua, Uganda | The independent | Martha Tiko Ondoga, founding member of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) begged President Yoweri Museveni to intervene and forgive him.

Besigye, along with his coacked Hajji Obeid Lutale, are in the prison of Luzira since November last year. They are accused of five crimes, including betrayal and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Concerns about Besigye’s health have been raised after hunger hungry to protest arrest.

Tiko 80 said that President Museveni should be kind to Besigye regarding his deterioration of health and allow him to have access to good medical care.

The retired teacher of grade two, who served as director in the schools of the city of Kampala, made this appeal during a press conference in the city of Arua.

David Edema, Secretary of Advertising of the FDC in the city of Arua, said that liberating Besigye from prison will not affect the procedures in court, but will allow him to access medical care.

Besigye’s lawyers have submitted requests to the courts that seek their release from prison, citing violations of their human rights.
