In PEOPLE’s exclusive clip from Tuesday’s episode of 1000 pounds. sistersThe 38-year-old hangs out with her brother Chris while he helps her practice driving a golf cart. Chris tells Tammy to start moving and warns her, “Don’t kill me,” holding onto a bar as she makes a couple of tight turns.

“When I start driving, I feel amazing,” he says. “Don’t worry, bitch! Do it. Do it!

Tammy then almost crashes into a tree and begins to panic after having to slam on the brakes at the last minute. Chris calmly reminds her to use the brake pedal on time and encourages her to drive again.

“It’s still scary, but I have to remember to breathe and not panic… especially when a tree is approaching,” he jokes.

After driving the gold car for a while, Chris asks Tammy if she would try it again. “I guess I have to get used to it. Maybe in a couple more… let’s make it years,” he responds, laughing as Chris shakes his head in frustration.

“I’m proud of myself. I’m glad I chose to drive today. But as far as the car goes, that’s a bit of a stretch,” Tammy adds in a confessional.

Chris tells her that they won’t have to wait years and that Tammy needs to get her driver’s license soon so she can be more independent and do what she wants.

“I don’t understand why Tammy doesn’t necessarily want to learn to drive because she knows how frustrating it is to wait and call people for rides,” she says. “Maybe it’s the fear of not needing someone because you went from basically being a bedridden person who was waited on hand and foot to someone who can do whatever they want.”

“And being able to drive is the last part of the puzzle,” Chris adds before telling his sister, “There’s nothing stopping you except fear.”

A new episode of 1000 pounds. sisters airs Tuesday, October 29 at 9 pm ET/PT.
