Man, 36, seriously injured after coup and career suspicion

A 36 -year -old man has suffered serious injuries after an alleged blow and career. The incident occurred in Cumberland Road, SouthportAround 7.53 pm, when a Ford Blanca traffic truck crashed with a pedestrian.

The injured pedestrian was taken to the hospital by ambulance and is being treated for serious injuries. Its condition is described as serious but not threatening in life.

Police said that the transit truck driver, a 57 -year -old man from Southport, did not stop at the scene. A man was arrested a little later on suspicion of causing serious injuries through careless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and not stopping at the scene of an accident.

They took him to a police station where the officers interviewed him. The officers of the road surveillance team are carrying out exams on the scene and any person who has witnessed the incident, or who has Dashcam images that can help with the consultations, are asked to communicate with the police.

Tonight a great cord was established while emergency services treated the incident. A man, who saw several police cars that headed towards the scene, said he knew something “really serious.”

He told the Echo: “We did not see the incident, but we immediately knew that there were real concerns about what had happened. In reality we moved away from the scene while we drove through the lights and blue sirens of Birkdale and Ainsdale ran again And again.

“Police patrol cars, unmarked cars and a first -response ambulance team were among the vehicles that were heading towards the city center, making the trip one by one or in pairs while reacted to a situation of development.

“It was quite worrying because it felt clear that emergency services believed that something really serious had happened. I just hope that nobody has been seriously injured.”
