Mother accused of killing her husband meets the family – NBC4 Washington

A woman accused of killing her separate husband met with her family after four months in jail.

Latoya Crabbe has been in jail in Prince William County for a murder position since October. Threw on Bond on Friday, she entered her mother’s arms directly. Tears began before the hug.

“I saw her aside and immediately began to cry,” Crabbe said. “I couldn’t stop, I started crying. I was so happy to see her. “

Then, at home, they hug more with their three children of 5, 4 and 2 years.

“At first, they were a little speechless for a second, but then, ‘I missed you’, and they wondered why I had been so long,” Crabbe said.

Police arrested Crabbe on October 21. Manassas Police says she shot her husband separated several times in the couple’s room.

Crabbe’s defense lawyers say that fatal shots arrived only a few days after Curtis Crabbe allegedly sent threatening text messages, a reading: “I’m not playing.” I will hurt everyone in that house, then I will turn it on flames. “

Crabbe says he acted in self -defense. Her lawyers say that her Curtis husband cornered her holding a knife.

In jail, initially in solitary confinement, Crabbe says he felt desperate.

“Honestly, there was a point where I almost thought I should have let him kill me,” he said.

She says that once she could begin to reconnect with family and friends through calls, letters and video visits, she decided to be with her children again.

“Everyone who knew me and automatically believed that I would never have done anything except in self -defense, changed my hope and mentality about the situation,” he said. “That I am very grateful that I am still alive, that all the members of my family are still alive.”

Crabbe must return to the Court on Thursday, when prosecutors plan to dismiss the second degree murder position he faces. But they said they plan to take their evidence to a large jury next month and look for a first degree murder position.

Prosecutors say they recently received evidence that shows a ring video taken at the time of the shooting that had been deleted. Crabbe’s family says that the cameras are in a living room, not in the bedroom, and are only registered when there was movement.

Meanwhile, Crabbe said he focused on spending as long as possible with his children.

“We are taking full advantage of the time we have because we don’t know how long it will happen,” he said.

“I try to wait for the best and prepare for the worst case,” he said.

Crabbe’s lawyers say that prosecutors offered him the opportunity to declare himself guilty and not have more than 15 years in prison, but she rejected it.
