A 22 -year -old Rochester was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a high -speed accident that involved a mini bicycle, according to Rochester police.

The accident occurred in North Clinton Avenue and Avenue D around 3:30 pm of the Rochester Police and the Firefighters were called to the intersection at the Northeast of Rochester after the mini bicycle that was traveling eastward on North Avenue Clinton at a “high speed” crashed against the front the part of a south truck that was waiting to turn east, according to the Police Department of Rochester.

The mini bicycle driver was taken to the Strong Memorial hospital with serious and critical injuries, the officers said. His name and medical status were not released.

The bicycle mini operator had no helmet, the officers said. He was also accused of having an illegal gun: the police did not specify how or why the weapon was not legal. The mini bicycle was not registered, according to the police.

The truck driver was not injured.
