Robert E. Crimto III trial: 7 jurors selected in trial for alleged Highland Park shooter in Deadly on July 4, 2022 Parade

Waukegan, Ill. (WLS) – A seventh jury was selected Tuesday morning at the Robert Crimto III trial.

Crime is accused of planning 2022 Highland Park Fasting of a July 4 parade For weeks, kill seven people and wounding almost 50 with an assault weapon.

On Monday seven jurors were selected, however, one was excused on Tuesday morning.

Shortly after saying goodbye, another jury was sitting, which took the total to seven. 12 jurors plus 6 substitutes must be selected.

Position was presented to the Court on Tuesday with a black road suit and Nikes, unlike yesterday’s demand and tie.

The now 24 -year -old had a low head during the first hour and was only alert when a jury was being questioned about video games.

Initially, position was accused of 21 positions of first degree murder, three positions for each person murdered, as well as 48 positions of murder attempt and 48 charges of aggravated aggression.

On Monday, Lake County prosecutors sought to leave the 47 less serious aggravated battery counts in an apparent effort to rationalize the case.

Lake’s County State Prosecutor’s Office declined to comment on Monday.

“It is not unusual. They want to make sure to focus on the charges that have to be the strongest and most rationalized in the case,” said lawyer Ted McNabola.

The father of the accused shooter, Robert Crimeo Jr., entered the Court on Tuesday morning.

Crimeo Jr. declared himself guilty in 2023 of seven minor crimes of reckless conduct. The charges focused on how their son obtained a weapons license.

The prosecutors said that almost all 48 survivors of that day plan to testify. The trial is expected to last for three to five weeks.

Opening statements are expected next week.
