Man accused of stabbing the Woodbury officer will face a judge

Waterbury, CT (WFSB) – A man accused of stabbing a Woodbury officer several times was in the file to face a judge on Wednesday.

Tyler Wilmot, 31, was accused of assaulting a police officer and murder attempt.

The incident occurred during a traffic stop in October 2024.

State prosecutors said Wilmot knew the officer, officer Tim Wright.

They said Wright was stabbed several times on the neck and throat.

It was told to channel 3 that the only reason he survived was because of the rapid action of other officers to take him to a hospital.
