Man NJ condemned by vehicular homicide in a clash that killed 2

A New Jersey man with a history of sentences for serious crimes was declared guilty of vehicular homicide and other charges in an accident that killed two passengers and seriously injured two others, prosecutors announced on Tuesday.

A jury from Essex County Shaquan Wiley39, of Newark, in eight positions, including two charges of vehicular homicide in the first degree and two positions of assault aggravated by car, after a trial before Judge Ronald D. Wigler, prosecutors said. The verdict was delivered Monday night.

The charges emerged from a high -speed accident on January 25, 2020, when Wiley, intoxicated at the wheel of a 2007 sedan, lost control of the vehicle while traveling to more than 84 mph for 15th Avenue, prosecutors said.
