£ 25,000 of doubtful and vape cigarettes seized of back street shopping Back Shop

WALSALL Police raided Caldmore’s store this morning (Wednesday, February 26) along with Walsall advice Commercial Standard Officers.

The joint operation was part of a crime bombardment in the city this morning that led to arrests and seizures of weapons, drugs and money.

The Walsall Police published on social networks: “The officers of the Starhew neighborhood surveillance team joined the commercial standards this morning as part of a joint operation.

“In a store, we obtained access to thousands of illegal cigarettes that were hidden, as well as more than 1,000 illegal vaps.”

The increase in the cost of cigarettes due to repeated tax increases has generated a black market with false and illegal cigarettes of smuggling throughout the country. Vapeo has seen a massive increase in popularity, but there are still fears about their safety, especially when children use it.

The doubtful vapo that the health and safety controls have not passed have become more popular in Midlands in recent years and several were found in the Caldmore store.

Police added: “Disposable vapes must contain two percent of nicotine and have a capacity of 2 ml of liquid.

These vape often have flavor to fruits and bright colors, which makes them more attractive to children, causing concerns among doctors about the long -term effect on young people’s lungs.

PC Courtney Tongue, of the ST Matthew team at Walsall LPA, said: “We have an excellent working relationship with the commercial standards of the Walsall Council and regularly carry out these joint operations. This was a successful raid where thousands of illegal cigarettes and vapes were recovered. ”
