The schools received a letter: send a compensation plan as soon as possible, the deadline is expiring

Therefore, the Ministry of Education sent a letter to schools to present a plan for teaching compensation, so that the end of this school year could be carried out correctly.

The deadline for the delivery of the mentioned plan is, as the Ministry pointed out, on March 3, and so far it is known that four possible scenarios compensate for the lost classes.

Some schools that had some kind of suspension or boycott of classes in the previous months have already presented a compensation plan to the Ministry, already overlooked, will be the following models: extend the school year, that students work on Saturdays, to shorten classes 30 minutes, but increase the number of classes per day or shorten the material.

Shortened classes

The first model, the class compensation model, implies that the lessons shorten at 30 minutes and that instead of six or seven lessons a day, children have eight or nine. However, in secondary schools, especially in gyms, the class shortening model is difficult to implement, because students are already overloaded, and the only other model that can be applied to them is the extension of the school year.

School extension

The second model involves going to school more time than originally planned and, therefore, this scenario will also lead to the postponement of the final exam for eighth grade students. In the case of an extension, the high school graduation will take place on June 23, 24 and 25 instead of June 16, 17 and 18. Therefore, the publication of the desire list is postponed.

Working on Saturdays

The third model that exists as an option to compensate for teaching is to work on Saturdays. This would mean that the students who lost classes would go to school on Saturdays until all classes scheduled for the school year have been prosecuted.

Summarizing the material

The fourth model implies shortening the hours, and this is the last proposal that is also being considered. It is also the least popular of all of the above. It implies that the material must be summarized and that only the essential elements should be taught to children, to cover as quickly as possible the material that has been lost and that it still awaits them according to the school curriculum.
